GetTYsburg College students and faculty are celebrating a record graduation rate at South College.
The University of South Pennsylvania announced Monday that it had recorded its second consecutive year of overall graduating class, which was led by a record 9,838 students.
The College of Education and Technology in Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh students also joined the celebration.
The university also announced that it is adding two new degree programs.
The news comes after the College of Arts and Sciences and the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Entrepreneurship and the New Entrepreneur Center announced plans to open a new center for the business sector.
The new center will be located in the South Campus area.
The announcement comes on the heels of the state Department of Education announcing a $300 million grant to help fund the South College graduation rate increase.
The department also announced a new plan to provide scholarships for high school students.
