Westchester County Community College scored 10,619 points, beating out the University of New York at Buffalo to become one of three schools in the NCAA tournament’s four-team field to earn a No. 1 seed.
The victory marked the sixth straight season the CCC is a Final Four team.
The CCC advanced to the semifinals for the first time since 2009, beating Villanova in the first round.
It marked the seventh consecutive season the school has been in the semifinals, the longest active streak in the tournament.
The last time it was in the second round was 2005.
The CCC won its fifth game of the season and the second in as many games.
It also advanced to Saturday’s championship game, where it will play host to No. 2 seed Connecticut.
The Wildcats defeated the CMC, 6-5, on Saturday.
Westchester was coming off a 42-25 victory over the University at Buffalo.
Westchester finished with a 16-6 record overall and 12-2 mark in Big East play.
The Eagles earned a conference record 10th straight postseason appearance and the fourth in Big 12 history.
The Eagles are 18-11 overall, but the Ccc has only won four games.
The teams meet again at 3 p.m.
CT on Saturday at Mount St. Mary’s University.
