A former football coach at one of the nation’s top colleges has been arrested for alleged rape, according to a Boston Globe article.
Eli Peterson, the assistant football coach and offensive coordinator at the Arizona State University, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for an alleged rape of a girl in an apartment on the campus, according the Boston Globe.
Peterson was suspended by ASU in March 2016 after an investigation into allegations that he had raped a 15-year-old girl in a dorm room, and a former ASU football player filed a lawsuit against the school alleging Peterson had sexually assaulted him.
The former player, who is now a lawyer in Boston, alleged Peterson raped him in a hotel room in 2012.
The investigation was closed by ASUSU.
Petersen’s arrest comes less than a month after the school reported that a student at its campus had reported a sexual assault to the school’s police department, though no charges have been filed.
