— The Cleveland Browns have said they will not practice until “very, much later in the spring” and said the team will use a different quarterback for a game this week in Arizona.
Josh McCown will sit out this week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with a sprained left knee, Cleveland coach Rob Chudzinski said Monday.
He’s listed as questionable for Thursday night’s game at Detroit.
The Browns were supposed to have McCown ready to play for them in Week 1.
They’ve been without him since March 25 after a shoulder injury.
The team announced last week that McCown’s knee was partially reconstructed and would require another surgery.
A source told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that McCarron had not practiced in about two weeks.
The source did not provide a timetable for his return.
McCarron has not played in a game since Week 1, and he had just eight carries for 15 yards last week in a loss to Minnesota.
He missed the last two games because of a shoulder ailment.
