Will Baylor and Oklahoma host the 2017 Big 10 Championship Game?
A Baylor athletic department official told Fox News Thursday that the school is working on a deal with Oklahoma to host the championship game of the Big 12 Conference championship in January.
The official also said Baylor has agreed to host a game for Oklahoma in 2019, with the school also seeking to host an Oklahoma game in 2021.
The Big 12 is scheduled to hold its championship game in New Orleans in 2021 and 2022.
The league has scheduled its title game for New Orleans on Dec. 7, 2021.
The Big 12 has been working on scheduling the championship games for the last few years.
In January, the league announced it had awarded four championship games to schools from outside the traditional power conferences: Oklahoma, Baylor, TCU and Kansas State.
The decision to expand the conference’s championship game to the West was met with a mixed reaction.
Some fans were disappointed in the decision, while others were supportive of the decision.
Baylor and the Big 10 had previously agreed on a date for a championship game for 2019.
The conference is scheduled for its title match on Jan. 1, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.
The Cowboys are led by quarterback Dak Prescott, who is the Big 11 Offensive Player of the Year.
The conference also has a home-and-home series scheduled for 2021 and 2021, with Texas holding the title game in 2019.
Baylor, however, is scheduled in 2021 for the championship.
Oklahoma, meanwhile, has been a Big 12 champion for the past three seasons.
